Colson Transport take part in 100k Ultra Marathon challenge!
Colson Transport’s very own Ellie Colson and her sister Laura Wagg are taking on the 100K Ultra Marathon across the peak district! No matter how long it takes, (day or night!) this huge event is being taken on in the name of charity.
What is the Ultra Marathon?
This event is one of the few Peak District Challenges occurring during 2019 and will be welcoming up to 3,000 adventurers on its trail! The event itself begins in the idyllic town of Bakewell and run a varied figure eight through Derbyshire’s finest scenery and Peaks.
Our superstars Ellie and Laura are taking on this challenge due to recent events that have impacted the family. They want to help raise funds for the Nystagmus Network, a charity that works tirelessly to fund research and support families affected by the incurable condition of Nystagmus.
Ellie Colson had this to say: “we’ve decided to take part in the Ultra Challenge in July. We aren’t born runners and we certainly have never attempted this distance before. What we are though is determined to raise as much as we can.”
What is Nystagmus and the Nystagmus Network?
The Nystagmus Network are a registered UK charity who help to provide support, awareness and funding for those affected by the condition of Nystagmus. This condition entails involuntary movements of the eyes which can impair vision affecting both focus and depth perception. 1 in 1,000 babies are born with this condition.
Training has certainly been going well so far for this Ultra Marathon! We are asking friends and colleagues to donate to this wonderful cause. If you’re wanting to help Ellie and Laura too, you can donate to their Just Giving page below!
